Shenandoah University is recognizing Alumnus and CEO Jack Landis Ay '74

Jack Landis Ay ’74 will receive the Shenandoah Conservatory Alumnus of Excellence Award Saturday, April 1. Ay will receive the award during a special presentation at the Celebration Luncheon.

Jack Landis Ay was born in Baltimore, Maryland. Under the tutelage of his choral teacher, Mark Dubbs, he was accepted at Peabody Conservatory Preparatory School. From there, Ay went on to receive a Bachelor of Music at Shenandoah Conservatory and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance at Catholic University. After teaching music for two years, he discovered that he was more interested in supporting music teachers than being a teacher himself. In 1993, he founded The Musical Source, a retail sheet music business in Washington, D.C. In 2016, the Virginia Choral Directors Association awarded him the Sidney Swiggett Award for dedicated service to Virginia Choral Directors. Although Ay retired in 2017, he continues to consult and collaborate with musical organizations as well as sing professionally.

On behalf of The Musical Source team, CONGRATULATIONS to Jack Ay on winning this award and we Thank You for everything you have done to support teachers and students in music education around the world!
